Station Agent's Picks--The Station Agent

This movie is one of the first that comes to mind when I think about the good thing associated with contemporary independent films. The film follows Fin, a dwarf who has taken up residence in an abandoned train station. Disillusioned, Fin (Peter Dinklage) looks forward to solitude in the wake of a friends death. Life doesn't obey his vision, as he quickly finds himself in a tight-knit three pronged friendship with pushy, lovable Joe (Bobby Cannavale) and grief-stricken Olivia (Patricia Clarkson) who has recently lost a child.

The chemistry of the cast is infectious. All of the actors handle their complex roles effortlessly. If you can go an hour and a half without an explosion, this film carries my highest recommendation. Five Walruses!
