Station Agent's Picks--The West Wing

I like Aaron Sorkin so much that I even like Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip, so you know I loves me some The West Wing, especially the Sorkin-driven first four seasons.

Sorkin's characters were strong advocates for their ideology. His characters understood political realities, but were motivated to public service for pure reasons. Sorkin's world showed that even in the best case scenario--a government predominately filled with earnest people trying to serve their constituents the best way they knew how--effective governing is really hard.

In this clip from the pilot, President Bartlett (we should be so lucky) sweeps into the show like God and smites the heads of the show's fictional Christian Right.
